Best quotes from 2009
As another year comes to a close I’m in the process of reflecting on 2009 & preparing my predictions for 2010.
Part of this process for me is reviewing the top stories and sources for a reminder of how far we’ve come over the last 12 months. One of my favorites sources for industry news and insight is the Smartbrief daily newsletter produced by the CTIA. Below are some of their top quotes of 2009 that have become some of my favorite quotes too.
Normally I’d probably just re-tweet them all, but unfortunately the best quotes are rarely less than 140 characters
–Mickey Mantle, National Baseball Hall of Famer

| If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.”
–Nora Roberts, American author

| It is our responsibilities, not ourselves, that we should take seriously.”
–Peter Ustinov, British actor and writer
|
| If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.” |
| There is a real difference between managing and leading. … Managing winds up being the allocation of resources against tasks. Leadership focuses on people. My definition of a leader is someone who helps people succeed.”
–Carol Bartz, Yahoo! CEO

The Nora Roberts quote was better than anticipated. There was one from Gary Vaynerchuck that was good, wish I could remember it. What a shame there's no Steven Wright.
