Practicing what i preach…

This morning before work i was scanning my 162 RSS feeds and came across two interesting articles. The first feed from insidefacebook.com highlighted recent usage stats. What caught my eye was that the mobile application is now the 32nd most popular application on the platform.

Although adoption is impressive at 2.2 million users, it still doesn’t compare to such useful applications as booze mail and zoombies. Having said that, engagement is around 14%…which is much higher than most applications above and below it’s ranking.

What the stat page doesn’t tell you is how many page views or active users are on the mobile facebook website. I suspect it’s also pretty impressive…assuming people have figured out there is a seperate site for mobile.

The second article i came across was from the conversations website which highlighted their experience going mobile by using the feedme8 free service. Knowing that this blog is readable on a mobile device but isn’t optimized for it, i decided it was time to practice what i preach.
